Siobhán Cronin wears many hats in the music world. As a classically trained violinist, she performs regularly with top talents and touring shows, from Trans-Siberian Orchestra to Michael Bublé.

As a solo performer in the genre of classical crossover and rock violin, she’s performed in renowned venues nationwide, from Lincoln Center in New York City to the Fox Theatre in Detroit.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Siobhan Cronin.

Siobhan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in a neighborhood of suburban Detroit and was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to an incredible school (by the name of Cranbrook Kingswood) that placed a heavy emphasis on performance and creativity.

Risk taking has been one of the most essential elements of building my career. All of my greatest leaps in success have been a result of taking a risk: choosing to turn down a consistent, secure position in order to go on tour with an up-and-coming rock band, going against the advice of my teachers and breaking the rules of classical music in order to pursue my own genre of music making, moving to a new city with just a few hundred dollars where I knew nearly no one in order to build a career from the ground up.
